My oldest sister used to tell me a story about something scary she saw when she was very little. She had just woken up in the middle of the night when she saw something outside, she called my father crying and he quickly went to her room to see what was wrong. She told him it was "El Pollo Popo" something like The Popo Chicken. She kept pointing to a wall outside the room, saying it was there!. My father never really saw anything, and tried his best to calm her down until she felt asleep again.
To this day, she doesn't know exactly what it was that scared her so much, but she remembers a shadow that looked like a bird. I suppose it was one of those things, as a kid, when you saw something in the dark and imagined bizarre and horrible things, and it turned out to be something really stupid the next day, like a bunch of clothes on a chair (true story, haha, it happened to ... someone.. I know, ehem..)
One day I decided, for some reason, to do my version of what could have been "The Popo Chicken"

Mi hermana solía contarme una historia de algo que espantoso que vio cuando era muy pequeña, se acababa de despertar a media noche y notó algo afuera, empezó a llorar y mi padre fue a su habitación a calmarla. Le preguntó que pasaba y ella le dijo que era "El Pollo Popo"! Señalaba hacia una pared afuera de la habitación diciendo que ahí estaba. Mi padre realmente nunca vio nada allí y trato de calmarla lo mejor que pudo, hasta que se durmió de nuevo.
Hasta el día de hoy, ella no sabe exactamente que era lo que la asustaba tanto, pero recuerda que era una sombra que parecía un ave. Supongo fue algo que a menudo sucedía cuando uno era niño, donde veíamos cosas en la oscuridad y nos imaginábamos lo más horrible y bizarro y que al otro día resultaban ser cosas bien tontas como un montón de ropa (historia real, le paso a ....alguien....que conozco... ejem.. jeje)
Un día decidí, por alguna razón, hacer mi versión de lo podría haber sido "El Pollo Popo"
